The Queen and King corridors extend parallel and west out of the financial and entertainment districts. King Street West has evolved into one of Toronto's newest neighbourhoods as tens of thousands of people have moved into the area (that extends south to Fort York) in the last decade. Liberty Village, south of King between the fort and Dufferin has long been another of Toronto's creative clusters that is adding new condominium and townhouse developments each year. To the north, Queen Street West represents the artier side of the creative class. The street has been synonymous with Toronto's art scene since the 1970s and today a walk from Spadina to the Gladstone Hotel passes by many dozens of galleries and some of the city's most interesting independent retail.
