Mississauga

Mississauga is Canada's sixth biggest city with over 800,000 residents and is also one of the fastest growing places in the country. The city contains vast tracks of industrial land (light and heavy), especially to the north and near Pearson International Airport (most of the airport is in Mississauga) as well areas that are tucked in and around the residential zones. Though it has a reputation as a bedroom community, Mississauga boasts a number of "centres" that serve as downtowns for the city. These include the historic towns of Cooksville, Streetsville and on Lake Ontario, Port Credit. In the middle of Mississauga, surrounding Square One mall, is what has come to be known as the Mississauga City Centre, boasting a vertical skyline as impressive as many larger cities. In recent years, Mississauga has been actively shifting its development pattern from one typically associated with the suburbs to a more urban and walkable one.
