Restaurant and bars across the GTA were packed to the brim this Sunday, as Torontonains gathered to watch the Canadian men's hockey win a gold medal against the United States. As reported by the
CBC, Toronto entrepreneur Scott McDonald found a way to funnel the hockey enthusiasm for a good cause. McDonald established a city-wide event called the "Golden Game" that saw over 100 bars, restaurants and clubs across the Toronto raise money on Sunday afternoon for athletic charities.
"Scott McDonald, a local entrepreneur, will use Toronto's passion for
hockey to try to raise money for two athletic charities. He's behind a
city-wide event called the Golden Game, which encourages bars and
restaurants showing the game to raise money for the Canadian Athletes
Now Fund and the Right To Play Foundation."
